2022 ANIMATIC REEL
STORYBOARDS
These storyboards are part of an animatic jam. Each storyboard artist was supposed to board a sequence inspired by the movie Heavy Metal. Other requirements for the boards were to include camera movements and a 3D object, which gave me a chance to explore the 3D workspace that Storyboard Pro offers. The boards also had to have an element of sci-fi to it, as well as feature the film's antagonist, a green orb named the Loc-Nar.

This set of boards was developed for a storyboarding class, where I had to board a scene of two or more characters engaging in a sixty-second conversation. In this universe the world has been ravaged by an apocalypse, which has turned the survivors into mutated killing machines. This sequence has the main characters--Null and Void--confronting one of the antagonists, a man with a broken neck and long limbs named The Host. The Host, utterly obsessed with violent entertainment, tries to get Null and Void to kill each other so he can broadcast the carnage to the rest of the city.

This sequence is another assignment for a storyboarding class, where I had to board a sixty-second action sequence to a music bed. During this scene, a murderer prepares for his next kill, hunting down and tormenting the victim similarly to classic slashers such as Ghostface from Scream. The song I used is Final Girl by Graveyardguy, and the song itself was a large inspiration for the boards as it is sung in the perspective of a serial killer.

These boards I developed during one of my animation assignments, where I had to animate another classmate's character putting on three articles of clothing. With the storyboards, I wanted to get a general feel for the pacing of the character putting on the clothes; specifically the jacket, as that took more keyframes than the scarf and shoes.
